The SensexIQ screener filters ~2,300 NSE-listed stocks by price, technical, fundamental, and signal criteria in one focused view. This guide walks through the workflow and the 5 most powerful filter combinations for finding setups that actually have edge.

Step 1 — Open the screener

Navigate to /screener. The default view loads the full NSE universe with no filters. Header strip shows: universe size, active filters count, match count, data freshness timestamp.

Step 2 — Pick a preset for fast scanning

The presets are pre-tuned filter combinations. Click any one for instant filtered view:

  • High-conviction picks: Confidence ≥ 50, R/R ≥ 1.5. The signals with edge.
  • Breakout candidates: Above 20-bar high + volume confirmation.
  • Oversold bounce: RSI < 35. Mean-reversion candidates.
  • Strong uptrend: Price > 20-EMA > 50-EMA, RSI 50-75.
  • Volume surge: Today's volume ≥ 2× 20-day average.
  • Quality + Value: ROE ≥ 12%, P/E ≤ 30, D/E ≤ 1.5.
  • High growth: Revenue YoY ≥ 15% + Earnings YoY ≥ 15%.

Step 3 — Customise with the filter panel

The filter panel toggles for technical and fundamental criteria:

  • RSI range (slider)
  • Volume vs 20-DMA ratio
  • Market cap bands (Large / Mid / Small / Micro)
  • Sector multi-select
  • P/E range
  • ROE minimum
  • Debt-to-Equity maximum
  • Revenue growth + Earnings growth thresholds
  • Signal confidence minimum
  • R/R ratio minimum

Each filter narrows the universe live. Sidebar shows match count + filter count. Reset button clears all filters.

Step 4 — Sort by Confidence + R/R

Once you have a manageable result set (typically 20-50 stocks), sort by:

  1. Primary: Signal Confidence (descending)
  2. Secondary: R/R ratio (descending)

Top 5-10 results are the highest-conviction setups in your filtered universe. These are the names to dig into for entry timing.

Step 5 — Drill into individual stock for full analysis

Click any matched stock to open /stock/<symbol>. The detail page shows:

  • Live price chart with candlesticks
  • Active signals with confidence, R/R, entry/target/stop
  • Technical scorecard (trend + momentum + volume + volatility + signal strength)
  • Fundamental scorecard (valuation + quality + leverage + growth)
  • Trade levels marker (entry, target, stop)
  • Stock news

Cross-check the screener result with the detail-page data. If the screener flagged a momentum setup but the fundamental scorecard is < 40, pause — quality screen failure.

The 5 highest-conviction filter combinations

Combo 1: Quality momentum

ROE > 15% + Revenue YoY > 12% + Confidence > 50 + RSI 50-70. Finds growing-business stocks in early-stage momentum.

Combo 2: Value bounce

P/E < 20 + ROE > 12% + RSI < 40 + Volume > 1.5× 20-DMA. Cheap, profitable stocks getting bought after a beating.

Combo 3: Sector leadership

Sector = (your overweighted sector from rotation analysis) + Confidence > 50 + R/R > 2. Top names in the sector showing edge.

Combo 4: Mid-cap quality compounders

Market cap: Mid + ROE > 18% + D/E < 0.5 + Earnings YoY > 18%. Future bluechips in their compounding phase.

Combo 5: Breakout + fundamental confirmation

Preset: Breakouts today + ROE > 12% + Confidence > 40. Technical breakouts on businesses you can hold even if the breakout fails.

What to avoid

  • Trading every signal. Pick 1-3 best setups per week, not 10. Quality > quantity.
  • Skipping the fundamental cross-check. Technical breakouts on weak businesses fail more often than on quality businesses.
  • Ignoring market context. Bullish setups have higher win rate in uptrending markets. Skip long signals in bear phases.
  • Over-filtering. 10+ active filters often leave 0-3 matches. Loosen to 30-50 names, then prioritise manually.

Pair every screener output with position sizing (use the Position Sizing calculator) and risk-reward verification (use the R/R calculator) before entering any trade.
